Vanguards foundation was built on the UKs growing Mail order, Group retail and Independent retailers. Such as House of Fraser, Woolworths, Roseby’s. Freemans, Texplant, GUS, Express Gits, J D Williams. Our Production partners were from established mills in France, Portugal, Spain and Hong Kong.
In 1980 Vanguard due to expansion the company moved to new premises in Daisy Works , Longsight, Manchester. Vanguard occupied the expansive ground floor an area of over 22,000 sq feet. Proudly supported by our growing team, which now numbered in excess of 30+ staff, we piloted our way to further growth.
Vanguard with the backing of our customers and production partners, invested heavily into our infrastructure and systems to ensure improved service levels and product ranges.
Our close collaboration with our quality supply chain underpinned our expanding business. Vanguard was one of a few who proudly pioneered volume imports from the Indian Sub-Continent and especially Pakistan.
In 1985, Vanguard Textiles Ltd moved in to our own freehold property; Charles House in Ordsall Lane, Salford, covering some 7.5 acres and some 120,000 square feet of warehouse distribution and 15,000 square feet of administrative offices and showrooms over three floors.
These premises supported over 6500 pallet locations, storage for up to 365,000 cartons, a packing department and a pick and pack operation for B2C business. Staff of 150+ Sales in excess of £25 million.
Working closely with mills in Pakistan, India, China, Vietnam, Turkey, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, our client base expanded further in to also in to the flourishing internet companies.
In 2012, Vanguard restructured to meet its buyer’s changing needs and established itself as a global sourcing and design house. With a dedicated administrative team in house and supported with external design facilities, Vanguard continues to supply and support a blue chip client base.
Customers include, Tesco, Aldi, Morrisons, HOF, Dunnes Stores, Heaton’s, Harry Corry, TJ Maxx, TJ Hughes, B&M and Home Bargains.
